SOMA Global integrated RapidSOS NG911 call location information, with accurate iOS and Android device location directly displayed on a map quickly for faster response times
TAMPA, FL – 11/08/2018 – SOMA Global, a leading provider of Public Safety as a Service (PSAAS™), today announced an integration with RapidSOS to provide Next Generation 911 (NG911) call location to dispatchers and first responders.
Due to outdated infrastructure, public safety agencies today often receive no data around an emergency besides a voice connection and a broad estimate of location. The FCC estimates that faster response from improved location for 911 calls could save over 10,000 lives annually. RapidSOS works with trusted PSAP and first responder software vendors to deliver accurate location and rich data to call-takers, dispatchers and first responders via existing call-taking, dispatch, and mapping software.

- NG911 call location information, with accurate iOS and Android device location directly displayed on a map quickly for dispatchers to better visualize call information;
- Supplemental device information within the context of other apps that are currently running on the calling device, for example, ride sharing – dispatchers can soon access pickup/dropoff and driver information; and
- Publishing this additional device information to responders on the front line, to mobile dispatch applications running on mobile data terminals (MDTs) and handhelds.
